Attorney Lore and Attorney Phillips practice in the following areas:
– Estate Planning –
We come alongside individuals and families to help plan for incapacity and death. Estate planning services we provide include:
Durable Powers of Attorney
Trusts (including revocable trusts, special needs trusts, and more)
Healthcare Surrogate Designations
Declarations naming preneed guardians
– Elder Law –
Long term care is a costly and confusing matter for families. We help plan for long-term care, whether the prospect of long-term care is years away or a loved one is already in a nursing facility. Medicaid planning involves protecting the loved one’s hard-earned assets through the use of trusts and other legal tools. A Veterans Administration pension with aid and attendance benefits can be extremely helpful for reimbursing long term care expenses.
– Guardianship –
Sometimes a loved one can no longer manage healthcare and financial decisions, but does not have an estate plan in place – or there are problems with the existing plan. We represent guardians who are appointed by the court to oversee healthcare and finances of another, adults who are alleged to be incapacitated and families involved in the guardianship process.
– Guardian ad Litem Services –
When a child is involved in a court case, we can serve as the court appointed guardian ad litem. Our role is to look out for the best interests of the child, ensuring that sound decisions are made on his or her behalf.
– Probate & Trust Administration –
Our office assists families and friends who have lost a loved one in the distribution and handling of the decedent’s assets. We help determine whether a probate case should be filed with the court, oversee the distribution of assets (through probate or trust administration) and possible payment of creditors, and work with clients to wrap up a decedent’s affairs.
– Guardian Advocacy –
When a young adult with a disability reaches 18 years of age, his or her parents no longer have the legal authority to make health care and financial decisions. We represent families and disabled individuals in the guardian advocacy process to ensure that the financial and health care decisions for a person with a disability can be made.
– Special Needs Planning –
Estate planning has an extra layer of complexity for families in which someone has special needs. We assist these families by drafting special needs trusts, allowing the families to leave a legacy to their special needs family member without jeopardizing the benefits that person may be receiving.
We hope that you will consider Lore and Phillips, PLLC for your elder law and estate planning needs. The office is conveniently located at Premier Pointe and appointments can be scheduled by calling 407-961-7100. Please see their website www.loreandphillips.com for more information.
